Vietnam News - From May 20, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will have a visit to three European countries, Russia, Norway and Sweden at the invitation of the leaders of the countries.
Accordingly, receiving the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife will pay an official visit to the Russian Federation from 20-23 / 3 5, official visit to the Kingdom of Norway from May 24-26 and official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden from 26-28 May.
Vietnam and Russia established diplomatic relations in 1950, then decided to raise the relationship to strategic partners in 2001. 11 years later, the two countries became comprehensive strategic partners. Relations between the two countries have been strengthened through exchanges of delegations and bilateral meetings at all levels.

After the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union came into effect in October 2016, the trade value between the two countries grew strongly, reaching 5.3 billion USD in 2017.
Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing relations with Norway, an important partner in the Nordic region. Economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Norway has developed positively in recent years with two-way trade turnover in 2018 reaching 363 million USD. Cooperation between Vietnam and Norway in other areas such as education, culture, tourism, security and defense also achieved good results.
Meanwhile, Vietnam and Sweden have just celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations. Sweden is the first Western country to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam (January 11, 1969).
During last week's visit to Vietnam, Victoria Ingrid successor Princess Alice Desiree affirmed that Sweden attaches great importance to developing cooperative relations with Vietnam, an important country in ASEAN. Two-way trade now reaches more than one billion dollars each year. During 46 years, Sweden has provided more than 4 billion USD to Vietnam.
